Lowest point on the Earth.
Dead Sea is bordered by Jordan, Israel and Palestine. I choose Jordan to experience the Dead Sea. I must say it was all together a different experience. Dead Sea is not like all other oceans and beaches where you go, swim, and be in water for hours. The water of this lake is rich in many minerals, which makes the water greasy. One cannot spend more than 15 minutes in water as due to high minerals due to which body will get cuts which hurts badly. In this lake, one will float rather than swim. At the side of the beaches, we observed severe deposition of salt.
The only way to experience Dead Sea is to visit a private beach of some good Resort. All the tourist hotels and Resorts provide day pass for the visitors to experience Dead Sea. Even if you are not staying with them you can still enjoy at their beach. They provide the facility of day pass in which you can use all their services like pool, beach, shower, locker etc. Do not miss the very famous black mud, which you should apply on your entire body, and then go in the water. It has some medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Common for visitors to cover their bodies with the dark mud.

We went to O Beach Resort and purchased day pass. Resort was well maintained and the view of the Dead Sea/mountains from the resort was mesmerizing. The weather was chilling in January and was about to rain when we reached. At the corners of the beach, we saw many rocks with lots of salt deposition and the waves were high due to bad weather. It was time to get ourselves covered with black mud on the beach and to enter the Sea. We moved out of the sea quickly as it was very cold with fast waves. Presence of big stones with sharp salt deposition made it even more difficult to stay in water for longer period. Make sure not to dip your face in the water.

We certainly enjoyed the entire experience. However, it would have better if we had arrived few hours earlier. After taking shower we enjoyed the Resort, they have a nice cafeteria and the poolside sitting area with a nice view. To get relaxed u can also enjoy the Spa and massages that are offered in the Hotels with the products made of Dead Sea minerals that are marketed as very good for skin.
It was time to hit the road and visit the next destination.
DEAD SEA PANORAMIC COMPLEX
It was a steep cliff high above the Dead Sea. It was approx. twenty minutes’ drive from Resort. Here we got a very beautiful panoramic view of the Dead ea. It also has a café where you can sit and relax with some coffee and food. To know about the history of Dead Sea and the reason for its extinction as everyone has heard do visit the museum inside it. The museum gives a good insight of it.

TRAVEL TIPS:
- Do take towels with you. It is chargeable.
- Spend at least two to three hours and relish the experience.
- Visit during day time.
Must visit the Dead Sea experience and if you have time you can visit Panoramic Complex of Dead Sea.
